2015 Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Ancient DNA and Evolutionary Genomics, Norway

Getty Foundation is inviting application for pre-doctoral, postdoctoral and NEH fellowships to pursue research to complete their dissertations or to expand them for publication at the Getty Research Institute. Getty Pre and Postdoctoral fellowships are welcome from scholars of all nationalities. Scholarship Description:
The Getty FoundationGetty Predoctoral and Postdoctoral Fellowships are intended for emerging scholars to complete work on projects related to the Getty Research Institute’s annual theme. Recipients are in residence at the Getty Research Institute, where they pursue research to complete their dissertations or to expand them for publication. Fellows make use of the Getty collections, join in a weekly meeting devoted to the annual theme, and participate in the intellectual life of the Getty.

Getty Predoctoral and Postdoctoral Fellows are in residence for nine months from mid-September to mid-June.

What does it cover?
Getty Predoctoral Fellows receive a stipend of $25,000. Getty Postdoctoral Fellows receive a stipend of $30,000. Both fellowships also provide a work space at the Getty Research Institute or the Getty Villa, an apartment in the Getty scholar housing complex, and airfare to and from Los Angeles. These terms apply as of August 2014 and are subject to future changes. The stipend for the GRI-NEH fellowship is $4,200 per month. The GRI-NEH Postdoctoral Fellowship also provides workspace, housing, and transportation comparable to other Getty fellowship programs.

Selection Criteria:
All fellowships are awarded on a competitive basis. Applications will be evaluated by the Getty Research Institute (or in the case the GRI-NEH Fellowship by an external selection committee of qualified scholars convened and staffed by the Getty Research Institute) based on: (1) the overall quality of the application; (2) how the proposed project bears upon the annual research theme; (3) the applicant’s past achievements; and (4) how the project would benefit from the resources at the Getty, including its library and collections.

Hubble Fellowships for Postdoctoral Scientists in USA, 2015

The Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI) is welcoming application for Hubble Fellowships available for postdoctoral scientists to perform independent research at United States Host Institutions chosen by each Fellow. The Fellowship provides hold for up to three years at an annual stipend of approximately $67,000 plus benefits and an additional allowance of $16,000 per year for travel and other research costs. In addition, the Hubble Fellow can receive health insurance, relocation costs, and support for travel, computing services, publications, and other direct research costs. No additional stipend, salary, or other remuneration may be accepted from any other appointment (such as teaching), fellowship, or similar grant during the period of the Fellowship. Additional honorary named appointments intended to be linked with the title of “Hubble Fellow” are similarly not allowed.

Fellowship offers for 2015 will be made before February 1, 2015, and acceptance or refusal must be made before February 13, 2015. After this date additional offers may be made if any of the initial awards are not accepted.

There is no Vacancy number; instead, just state Postdoctoral Fellowship 2015 as the “Title of Post” in the section “What post are you applying for?” Please submit the application documents listed below electronically to iigh-info-at-unu.edu:
-the completed and signed UNU P-11 form
-a cover letter outlining your motivation, and how a 12-month Postdoctoral Fellowship with UNU-IIGH will benefit both your own academic career and the UNU-IIGH academic activities
-an abstract of your proposed research during your tenure as a  Postdoctoral  Fellow at UNU-IIGH
-a sample of  your recent publications (in English)
-two references to support your application, with one of the references written by your PhD thesis  supervisor
-a scanned copy of your passport details page.

Scholarship Application Deadline: The application deadline is 31st October 2014.
